Description
A healthy start to life: BARF for puppies from the beginning
Can you start feeding BARF to puppies right away? Absolutely! With our BARF trial package for puppies, you can gradually introduce your little four-legged friend to this natural feeding method and let them try our various meat options including beef, fish, and chicken.
BARF according to the prey model
The package contains a balanced mix of muscle meat, fish, tripe, and omasum as well as organs and raw meaty bones. For a complete BARF diet following the prey model, you should add about 20% plant-based components such as pureed vegetables and fruits. Additionally, meals should be supplemented regularly with various nutritional additives.

Feeding recommendation
For a balanced BARF diet for adult healthy dogs, we recommend a feeding composition of 80 % animal and 20 % plant-based components. The animal portion should be divided into 50 % muscle meat, 20 % tripe and omasum, 15 % offal, and 15 % raw meaty bones (RMB). The plant-based portion usually consists of 75 % vegetables and 25 % fruit.
Tip: To accurately calculate your dog's BARF rations, you can use our free BARF calculator. Simply enter your dog's data and receive balanced daily and weekly rations within seconds.
For adult healthy cats, the animal portion of BARF rations should be 95 %, consisting of approximately 65 % muscle meat, heart, fat, and blood, as well as 15 % raw meaty bones and offal. The remaining 5 % consists of fiber-rich vegetables such as carrots or pumpkin.
We recommend dividing the total food amount into at least two meals per day and supplementing with essential nutrients such as omega-3-6-9 oil or salmon oil, as well as seaweed meal and, if necessary, cod liver oil.
All our BARF products should be stored at -18 °C in the freezer and thawed in the refrigerator for approx. 12 hours before feeding, either without packaging or with sufficient air holes. Serve at room temperature.
The BARF pyramid
BARF pyramid for dogs
The BARF pyramid shown alongside illustrates how BARF meals can be structured for a healthy, adult dog. As a general rule, rations consist of 80 % animal and 20 % plant-based components, although not all elements need to be fed every single day. Feeding sick dogs or those with intolerances may look completely different. Therefore, the illustration should be seen as a general guideline only. Our nutrition experts are happy to help you with any questions about the right BARF ration for your four-legged friend.
