Description
Low-Fat and Rich in Fiber
Beef omasum is a particularly tasty and extremely healthy delicacy for your dog. This low-fat stomach contains pre-digested food remnants that provide valuable nutrients, but above all, beneficial gut bacteria and plant fibers. Our beef omasum is excellent for puppies, as well as for dogs transitioning to a BARF diet and for overweight pets.
Fresh Beef Omasum
Omasum is one of the four stomachs of a cow, alongside the rumen, reticulum, and abomasum. It gets its name from its special structure, as the mucous membrane is folded in a pleated manner. Alongside muscle meat, offal, and bones, stomachs like the rumen and omasum are important components of a healthy and balanced BARF diet and should regularly be included in your dog's bowl.
Note: Omasum is a natural product that is not washed but only roughly cleaned during our production process. Therefore, we recommend checking the product for any foreign bodies before feeding.

Feeding recommendation
For a balanced BARF diet for adult healthy dogs, we recommend a feeding composition of 80 % animal and 20 % plant-based components. The animal portion should be divided into 50 % muscle meat, 20 % tripe and omasum, 15 % offal, and 15 % raw meaty bones (RMB). The plant-based portion usually consists of 75 % vegetables and 25 % fruit.
Tip: To accurately calculate your dog's BARF rations, you can use our free BARF calculator. Simply enter your dog's data and receive balanced daily and weekly rations within seconds.
For adult healthy cats, the animal portion of BARF rations should be 95 %, consisting of approximately 65 % muscle meat, heart, fat, and blood, as well as 15 % raw meaty bones and offal. The remaining 5 % consists of fiber-rich vegetables such as carrots or pumpkin.
We recommend dividing the total food amount into at least two meals per day and supplementing with essential nutrients such as omega-3-6-9 oil or salmon oil, as well as seaweed meal and, if necessary, cod liver oil.
All our BARF products should be stored at -18 °C in the freezer and thawed in the refrigerator for approx. 12 hours before feeding, either without packaging or with sufficient air holes. Serve at room temperature.
The BARF pyramid
BARF pyramid for dogs
The BARF pyramid shown alongside illustrates how BARF meals can be structured for a healthy, adult dog. As a general rule, rations consist of 80 % animal and 20 % plant-based components, although not all elements need to be fed every single day. Feeding sick dogs or those with intolerances may look completely different. Therefore, the illustration should be seen as a general guideline only. Our nutrition experts are happy to help you with any questions about the right BARF ration for your four-legged friend.
