Vegetables & Fruit for Dogs – A Natural Supplement in BARF Nutrition
A balanced BARF diet consists not only of meat, but also of plant-based components. Vegetables for dogs provide valuable vitamins and minerals, but above all essential fibre that supports overall health and optimal digestion. Fruit for dogs also offers a natural supply of phytonutrients and health-promoting antioxidants.
Healthy Variety with Frozen Vegetable-Fruit Mixes
To offer your dog a species-appropriate diet, you will find a selection of deep-frozen vegetable and fruit mixes in our shop. Since dogs can absorb plant nutrients more effectively when they are mechanically broken down, our frozen vegetables and fruits are already finely chopped and ready to serve. Variety is just as important in the plant-based part of the BARF diet, which is why we offer different vegetable-fruit blends rich in healthy ingredients.
Natural Nutrients for a Healthy Canine Diet
The vitamins, enzymes and phytonutrients found in vegetables and fruit support the immune system and contribute to maintaining a healthy gut flora. Fibre-rich varieties help regulate digestion, while antioxidant compounds from fruit promote cellular protection.
For optimal nutrient absorption, it is recommended to combine plant-based ingredients with high-quality oils. This allows your dog to absorb and utilise fat-soluble vitamins more efficiently.
How Much Fruit and Vegetables Should a Dog Eat?
The plant portion of a BARF meal should make up around 20% of the total food amount. Of this, 75% should be vegetables and 25% fruit to ensure a well-balanced nutrient supply. A varied mix of different types ensures that your dog benefits from the diverse health advantages each ingredient offers. If your dog refuses to eat vegetables or fruit at all, the plant portion can also be replaced with psyllium husks.
With eBarf’s frozen vegetable-fruit mixes, you can easily and conveniently supplement your dog’s meals – for a wholesome and natural diet.
