High-quality ingredients support your cat
Our Fix-BAF® complete menu Chicken & Beef renal is a gently cooked wet food specially developed for cats with chronic kidney disease and renal insufficiency. Premium-quality chicken and beef muscle meat form the basis of this special complete food. It is complemented with chicken hearts, liver and fat, as well as beef blood and beef broth. All these ingredients have been carefully selected to provide your cat with all essential nutrients in the most natural way possible. Thanks to the addition of selected supplements in individually calculated amounts, this gently cooked dietetic food becomes a balanced complete food for cats with chronic renal insufficiency.
A food adapted to special needs
Unlike conventional renal foods, our Fix-BAF® renal is free from grains and other unnecessary fillers. It contains only a portion of pumpkin, which serves as a source of fibre. Due to its very high meat content and moderate fat content, our cooked renal diet food is highly palatable for your cat with kidney disease. At the same time, the phosphate content is reduced by 30 %, calcium is supplemented to meet requirements (Ca/P = 1.4/1), and the protein content meets requirements at the lower end of the scale. All of this supports and relieves your cat with chronic kidney disease in everyday life.
How we formulate our renal food
For our cooked renal complete menus, we use only very high-quality muscle meat as well as an increased fat and fibre content. To further reduce the phosphate content, cooked egg white is used. It provides important proteins but contains no phosphorus that could be harmful to cats with kidney disease.
The cooked renal diet food from Fix-BAF® is low in sodium and contains increased amounts of iron, B vitamins, vitamin E and taurine. This is necessary because cats with kidney disease often suffer from a deficiency of various essential nutrients due to increased urine excretion and impaired kidney function. The addition of pectin further rounds off our cooked renal meals. It binds toxins formed in the large intestine and helps eliminate them, providing additional relief for your cat’s kidneys.
This product was developed in collaboration with our animal naturopath Petra von Quillfeldt. You can find more information about feeding cats with chronic renal insufficiency in our blog post Renal insufficiency in cats.
Please note: Our renal diet food is significantly reduced in phosphate, which is why the recommended feeding period is initially 6 months. It is recommended to seek the advice of a veterinarian before use or before extending the feeding period. Regular blood tests are useful in order to detect a possible phosphate deficiency in good time and to assess the progression of the disease under this feeding regime as effectively as possible.
Please make sure your cat always has access to sufficient fresh water. We recommend mixing our Fix-BAF® renal diet food with at least 30 % water before feeding to ensure adequate fluid intake. Using the example of a 4 kg cat with a daily feeding amount of 180 g, this would mean feeding 120 g Fix-BAF® renal + 60 ml water.
