Fix-BARF® monthly package renal diet food
Fresh ingredients to support your cat’s health
The cooked renal Fix-BAF® complete menus are special dietetic complete feeds for cats to support kidney function in cases of chronic kidney insufficiency. Premium-quality muscle meat forms the basis of these tasty complete feeds with a moderate protein content. Enriched with important offal such as heart and liver, as well as an extra portion of fat, these complete menus provide many essential nutrients in a natural way. To ensure that the renal complete menus meet 100 % of your cat’s nutritional needs, they are rounded off with essential supplement blends that are calculated individually.
An extra portion of fat to stimulate appetite
Unlike conventional kidney food, Fix-BAF® renal is free from grains and other unnecessary ingredients. It contains only important indigestible fibre in the form of pumpkin. Thanks to the very high meat content and the additional fat content, this special kidney diet is guaranteed to be a real treat for every cat with kidney disease. The phosphate content is reduced by 30 % in all varieties, calcium is supplemented to meet requirements, and the protein content is requirement-covering at the lower range. This provides your cat with all the necessary nutrients in the right amounts, adapted to its special needs. All of this supports and relieves your cat with kidney disease every single day.
Ideally balanced recipes
Only very high-quality muscle meat is used for the cooked kidney diet food. The recipes have an increased fat content of 15 - 20 % to make them even tastier and improve acceptance. In addition, the fibre content has been increased to 10 % to support digestion as effectively as possible.
All varieties also contain cooked egg white in order to further reduce the phosphate content while still providing sufficient protein. Fix-BAF® kidney diet food is low in sodium and contains increased amounts of iron, B vitamins, vitamin E and taurine. This is necessary because cats with kidney disease often have a deficiency in various nutrients due to increased urine excretion and reduced kidney function. The addition of pectin completes the cooked kidney meals. This binds and helps eliminate toxins formed in the large intestine, providing additional relief for the kidneys.
This product was developed by animal health practitioner Petra von Quillfeldt. You can find further information on feeding cats with chronic kidney insufficiency in our blog post Kidney insufficiency in cats.
Please note: Our renal diet food is significantly reduced in phosphate, which is why the recommended feeding period is initially 6 months. It is recommended to seek the advice of a veterinarian before use or before extending the feeding period. Regular blood tests are useful in order to detect a possible phosphate deficiency in good time and to assess the progression of the disease under this feeding regime as effectively as possible.
Please ensure that your cat always has access to sufficient fresh water. We recommend mixing the Fix-BAF® renal diet food with 1–3 tablespoons of warm water (depending on acceptance) before feeding to help increase your cat’s fluid intake.
