Increased Nutritional Needs During Growth
Puppies can generally be fed the same BARF diet as adult dogs. However, the increased nutritional needs of young dogs are met through larger portions of food. Adjustments are necessary: since puppies should initially only eat soft bones that contain less calcium than hard bones, the bone content in their meals must be higher. For puppies, 20% of the animal components should consist of raw, meaty bones. Our Complete Menu Junior takes this into account and provides a balanced diet for your puppy or young dog.
High-Quality Ingredients for a Healthy Diet
To ensure your dog gets all the essential nutrients, we use only fresh and high-quality ingredients from Germany in our complete menus. The prey-based complete menus are ideal for daily feeding and follow the prey animal principle with 80% animal and 20% plant-based components. Supplement the complete menu with essential nutritional additives like seaweed meal, Omega-3-6-9 oil, and cod liver oil for a fully balanced meal. If needed, you can also add nuts, seeds, or herbs to further customize the meal.

The BARF pyramid
BARF pyramid for dogs
The BARF pyramid shown alongside illustrates how BARF meals can be structured for a healthy, adult dog. As a general rule, rations consist of 80 % animal and 20 % plant-based components, although not all elements need to be fed every single day. Feeding sick dogs or those with intolerances may look completely different. Therefore, the illustration should be seen as a general guideline only. Our nutrition experts are happy to help you with any questions about the right BARF ration for your four-legged friend.
