How do I properly thaw BARF meat?
All our BARF products should be stored at -18 °C in the freezer and thawed in the fridge for about 12 hours before feeding – either without packaging or with sufficient air holes. Meat should never be thawed in an airtight container, as this can lead to the formation of the anaerobic bacterium Clostridium botulinum, which is highly toxic. Always serve the meat at room temperature.
The BARF sausages are easiest to cut while frozen using a knife or by completely cutting off the ends with scissors. The meat can be removed most easily from the plastic packaging while still frozen.
