Time-Tested Medicinal Plant
Borage has been used as a spice and medicinal plant in human health since the Middle Ages. In recent years, it has increasingly found its place in the healthy diet of dogs as a natural supplement. The seeds of this plant, also known as cucumber or bugleweed, are used to produce a light oil that is particularly rich in γ-linolenic acid (GLA) and thus brings many positive properties.
Natural Fatty Acids for Healthy Skin
As a healthy omega-3 fatty acid, gamma-linolenic acid acts primarily as an anti-inflammatory. It can naturally relieve inflammatory skin reactions and even allergic itching. Borage oil has the highest GLA content of all plant oils. Gamma-linolenic acid is a natural component of the skin that helps in the formation of tissue hormones, which in turn have anti-inflammatory and anti-itch properties.
