Our Chicken & Beef Kidney Special is a specially developed complete food for cats with chronic kidney insufficiency. This premium renal complete menu consists of high-quality checked chicken and beef muscle meat without connective tissue, supplemented with chicken hearts, fat, and liver. This results in a tasty and healthy raw meat menu rich in natural ingredients. Enriched with all necessary supplements, our Fix-BARF® renal offers a high-quality, nutritious complete food.
Unique Compared to Conventional Kidney Food
Unlike conventional kidney food, our renal complete menu contains no grains or other plant-based fillers. Only a portion of pumpkin is included, providing your cat with essential fiber for healthy digestion. With its very high meat content, our Chicken & Beef Kidney Special Menu is a true delicacy for cats with kidney disease.
Special Characteristics of Our Kidney Food
The phosphate content in our kidney-special food is reduced by 30%, with calcium and protein levels adjusted to meet your cat's needs (Ca/P = 1.4/1). To achieve this, we use only high-quality muscle meat, as well as an increased fat content of 15-20% and a higher fiber content. This BARF complete menu also contains cooked egg whites, which are over 90% digestible and phosphate-free, further reducing the phosphate content.
100% Nutritionally Complete
The Fix-BARF® Chicken & Beef Kidney Special is low in sodium and rich in essential nutrients such as iron, B vitamins, vitamin E, and taurine. Due to increased urine output and reduced kidney function, cats with kidney disease often lack these nutrients. This was taken into account in the recipe's development. The addition of pectin completes this kidney meal. Pectin binds toxins in the colon and aids in their elimination, providing further relief for the kidneys. Every ingredient in this special food has been carefully chosen to suit your cat’s needs optimally and provide the best support for their kidney health.
Please Note: Our kidney-special food has a significantly reduced phosphate content, so semi-annual blood tests are essential to detect any phosphate deficiency early and monitor the progression of your cat's disease under this diet.

Feeding recommendation
Fix-BARF® for Cats
The daily food amount should be approximately 25 - 30 g of food per kg of the cat's body weight. However, the specified food amounts are only guidelines and may vary significantly depending on age, breed, sex, and living conditions.
We recommend dividing the total food amount into at least two portions per day.
All of our BARF products should be stored in the freezer at -18 °C and thawed in the refrigerator for about 12 hours before feeding, either without packaging or with sufficient air holes. Serve the meat at room temperature.

The BARF pyramid shown here illustrates how a balanced BARF meal for a healthy, adult cat can be structured. However, it serves only as a rough guideline, as the composition can vary significantly depending on your cat's tolerance, acceptance, and individual needs. A BARF ration typically consists of 95% animal-based and 5% plant-based ingredients. Heart is considered muscle meat and should make up a maximum of 20% of the total ration. Offal includes, among other things, stomach and liver, as well as – depending on the cat's preferences – spleen, kidney, and lung. Suitable meaty bones include, for example, chicken necks, while breastbone is unsuitable for cats.
