Turkey Renal Diet Food - Fix-BARF®
Fix-BARF® Turkey & Chicken Renal Diet Food
Description
High-quality raw meat menu for cats with renal insufficiency
Our renal special chicken & beef is a specially developed dietetic complete feed for cats to support kidney function in cases of chronic renal insufficiency. This premium renal complete menu consists of quality-tested chicken and beef muscle meat without connective tissue, supplemented with chicken hearts, chicken fat and chicken liver. This creates a tasty and healthy raw meat menu with a limited but high-quality protein content. Enriched with all necessary supplements, our Fix-BARF® renal offers a healthy complete feed of exceptionally high quality.
Unique compared to conventional kidney food
Unlike conventional kidney food, our renal complete menu contains neither grains nor other plant-based fillers. Only a portion of pumpkin is included, providing your cat with important fibre for healthy digestion. Thanks to its very high meat content, our renal special food in the chicken & beef variety is a real treat for your cat with kidney disease.
Special features of our kidney food
The phosphate content in our renal special food is reduced by 30 %, calcium and protein are supplemented to meet requirements (Ca/P = 1.4/1). To achieve this, we use only high-quality muscle meat as well as an increased fat content of 15 - 20 % and an increased fibre content. This BARF complete menu also contains cooked egg white, which is over 90 % digestible and phosphate-free, in order to further reduce the phosphate content.
100 % nutritionally complete
Fix-BARF® renal special chicken & beef is low in sodium and rich in important nutrients such as iron, B vitamins, vitamin E and taurine. Due to increased urine excretion and impaired kidney function, cats with kidney disease often have a deficiency in these nutrients. This was taken into account when developing the recipe. The addition of pectin completes this kidney-supporting meal. Pectin binds toxins formed in the large intestine and helps them to be excreted, which provides additional relief for the kidneys. Every ingredient in this special food has been carefully selected to optimally meet the needs of your cat with kidney disease and support her in the best possible way.
This product was developed in collaboration with our animal naturopath Petra von Quillfeldt. You can find more information about feeding cats with chronic renal insufficiency in our blog post Renal insufficiency in cats.

Feeding recommendation
Please note: Our renal diet food is significantly reduced in phosphate, which is why the recommended feeding period is initially 6 months. It is recommended to seek the advice of a veterinarian before use or before extending the feeding period. Regular blood tests are useful in order to detect a possible phosphate deficiency in good time and to assess the progression of the disease under this feeding regime as effectively as possible.
Please make sure your cat always has access to sufficient fresh water. We recommend mixing our Fix-BARF® renal diet food with at least 30 % water before feeding to ensure adequate fluid intake. Using the example of a 4 kg cat with a daily feeding amount of 180 g, this would mean feeding 120 g Fix-BARF® renal + 60 ml water.
Fix-BARF® for Cats
The daily food amount should be approximately 25 - 30 g of food per kg of the cat's body weight. However, the specified food amounts are only guidelines and may vary significantly depending on age, breed, sex, and living conditions.
We recommend dividing the total food amount into at least two portions per day.
All of our BARF products should be stored in the freezer at -18 °C and thawed in the refrigerator for about 12 hours before feeding, either without packaging or with sufficient air holes. Serve the meat at room temperature.
The BARF pyramid
BARF pyramid for cats
The BARF pyramid shown here illustrates how a balanced BARF meal for a healthy, adult cat can be structured. However, it serves only as a rough guideline, as the composition can vary significantly depending on your cat's tolerance, acceptance, and individual needs. A BARF ration typically consists of 95% animal-based and 5% plant-based ingredients. Heart is considered muscle meat and should make up a maximum of 20% of the total ration. Offal includes, among other things, stomach and liver, as well as – depending on the cat's preferences – spleen, kidney, and lung. Suitable meaty bones include, for example, chicken necks, while breastbone is unsuitable for cats.
