Beef Kidney: Nutrient-Rich Organ for BARF Feeding
Our beef kidney is a valuable organ meat in the BARF diet, providing your dog or cat with essential nutrients such as high-quality proteins, iron, selenium, and vitamin A, as well as B vitamins. These nutrients support blood formation, promote cellular metabolism, and contribute to the overall vitality of your pet. Since kidneys are low in fat and easily digestible, they are well-suited as part of a balanced BARF meal when fed in combination with other organ meats.
Organ Meats: Central Component of the BARF Diet
Organ meats play a crucial role in the BARF diet, as they contain many valuable vitamins and minerals that are not present in this form and quantity in any other components. The most important organ meats include heart, liver, kidney, lungs, and spleen. These should be fed in a balanced ratio to provide your pet with optimal nutrient supply. The ideal mixture can be easily created with our organ meat calculator.

BARF pyramid
The BARF pyramid opposite shows how BARF meals should be divided up for a healthy, adult dog. Normally, the rations consist of 80 % animal and 20 % vegetable components, although not all components need to be fed every day. Feeding sick animals or those with intolerances can look completely different. Our nutrition experts will be happy to help you with any questions you may have.
Feeding recommendation
For a balanced BARF diet for adult healthy dogs, we recommend a composition of 80% animal and 20% plant components. The animal portion should be divided into 50% muscle meat, 20% tripe and leaf tripe, 15% organs, and 15% raw meaty bones (RMB). The plant portion typically consists of 75% vegetables and 25% fruit.
To calculate the exact BARF rations for your dog, you can use our free BARF calculator. Enter your dog's data, and receive the results for balanced daily and weekly rations within seconds.
For adult healthy cats, the animal portion of the BARF rations should be 95%. The remaining 5% should consist of fiber-rich vegetables like carrots or pumpkin.
We recommend dividing the total food amount into at least two portions per day and supplementing it with essential dietary supplements such as Omega-3-6-9 oil and seaweed powder.
All of our BARF products should be stored in the freezer at -18 °C and thawed in the refrigerator for about 12 hours before feeding, either without packaging or with sufficient air holes. Serve the meat at room temperature.
