Ancient Home Remedy from Human Medicine
Moro's Carrot Soup originates from human medicine, more specifically from paediatrics. It was invented in the early 20th century by Professor Moro, head of the Heidelberg Children's Clinic, and has since been used as a complementary therapy for digestive problems like diarrhoea and intestinal diseases.
Supportive Therapy for Diarrhoea and Intestinal Disorders
The soup's composition is as simple as it is effective. By slow-cooking carrots for several hours, special sugar molecules called oligosaccharides are formed. These can attach to your dog's intestinal wall, helping to displace harmful single-celled organisms like Giardia and promote their rapid elimination. However, the soup is not a cure-all and should only be used as a complementary therapy for serious illnesses.
How to Feed Moro's Carrot Soup
Offer Moro's Carrot Soup to your dog in small portions on its own four to five times a day, ideally about 30 minutes before the main meal, and serve it at room temperature. If your dog won’t eat the soup on its own, you can add some boiled chicken, meat, or bone broth. To soothe the irritated gastrointestinal tract further, you can supplement with fennel, chamomile, or peppermint tea. We recommend combining the soup with a gentle diet.
